A Brief Introduction Of SBI PO Entrance Exam

The year 2015, saw a change in State Bank of India PO recruitment process. To be able to work as Probationary Officer in SBI the candidate should possess requisite skills and to test that a three phased selection is done.
Phase 1- The general screening process consist of preliminary exam.
The exam consist of 100 objective type questions that are divided into three sections namely:
- Quantitative Aptitude
The total time allotted for the exam is 1 hour.
There will be negative marking too, 0.25% marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.
To qualify this exam the candidate must clear the minimum criteria for each individual section.
The Objective Test of 2 hours duration consists of 4 Sections with 50 marks each:
- English Language
- General Awareness, Marketing &Computers
- Data Analysis & Interpretation
- Logical Reasoning
The Descriptive Exam will also be conducted only. The candidates will be required to type the answers on their computer screen.
The Descriptive exam will carry 50 marks and the time for it will 30 minutes. The exam will consist of Essay Writing and Letter Writing in English.
The final recruitment will be made on the basis of GD and PI rounds.
- GD carries 20 marks
- PI consist of 30 marks
On the basis of the total marks in all of these sections a final merit list will be prepared and the recruitment will be made.

From the year 2015, the State Bank of India has changed the pattern of its PO recruitment examination. The recruitment process will be spread over three phases. Phase 2 will be the main examination consisting of objective as well as descriptive questions. The final phase will consist of a Personal Interview and Group Discussion, as was the case earlier.
The biggest change in the SBI PO examination is that the descriptive test too will be conducted online i.e. the candidates are required to type out their answers on the computer. Those candidates who qualify Phase 2 are further tested with a Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
